Crossfire problem. 5870x5870

I do not think I am experiencing a performance increase at all. I do not know if I configured it correctly. I have a Sapphire Vapor-x edition and a Sapphire eyefinity 6 edition. Now I know for sure you just need the same cards in the family of 5xxx but in this case they are both 5870's.

If it helps vapor-x is on top and eyefinity is bottom.

go download GPUz and check to see if cross fire is enabled. What game are you using this with.

Another thing, is your cpu is most likely bottle necking your GPUs. You should really look into an upgrade.

Oh, I havent been on OCN in a while. My sig rig is out dated. I have a Q9550 @ 3.8ghz and I was running BC2. For sure, my cpu is not bottlenecking. In GPUz it says enabled when i look at the other card it says disabled.

I have confirmed that it is on and that afterburner sees both. One card is at 850 mhz and the other is at 875 mhz but i think the 875 mhz is the non vapor x one and the 850 is the vapor x. I am so confused.

Played BC2 in Xfire mode i got about 70 fps on a 1440x900 but when i disable and run on one card i get better fps about 10-20 fps better.

why is that?

Do a 3dmark vantage test. You should score well above 18k (close to 30k) on the GPU for both cards.

As well, don't forget to ENABLE CrossfireX in CCC (catalyst control center) which is found on the AMD website

p.s. check if the cards are linked via a crossfire bridge, that one messed me up a few months back

Plus to what kennh said, there can be a problem because normal 5870 is 1GB and eyefinity6 edition is 2GB(if i recall correctly) so that's why that eyefinity might not work...
