Help with overclocking plz Intel i7 860 2.80

Thread Starter
I am sure that there is something out there for helping me attempt my very first overclocking, but everything seems so technical, I cant seem to get things rolling properly. Perhaps someone can help me with somewhat easier terms LOL
Getting some rather extreme lag in some games, figured that perhaps the video and memory are faster than the CPU. I did a 3DMARK06 test, these are the results:

3DMARK06 score is 20555
SM2.0 Score is 7442
HDR/SM3.0 Score is 10963
CPU Score is 5127

I have seen scores posted that were way better than this with very similar rigs.

So, here goes:
The rig:
Intel i7 860 @2.8GHZ
Asus P7P55d Deluxe Motherboard
2x ATI HD 5870 1g Video Crossfired
4x2gig Corsair Dominator 1600MHz
Windows 7 64bit Operating System

What do you guys suggest for overclocking this? Can I get to 4GHZ mabee?
I thought of using the ASUS TurboEVO, but after reading about it, I figured
to go through the BIOS with to me is rather difficult to understand, this being my very first attemt to overclocking.

Help plz!

ok try this, put your bclk at 191 and your cpu at 1.28v and your IMC at 1.25v. and disable LLC, Turbo Mode, and all other power saving stuff on your bios. run prime95 to see if it stable. that's how i got mine at 4Ghz

Well, that didnt work. Changed the settings in biosas per your post, got bluescreen of death.
Flashed way to fast to see the error code.
I must be doing something wrong.
Any thoughts?
Thanks

Disable the auto-restart BSOD function through control panel. Use the 920 OC guide on this website for a list of error codes.

Thanks for the help .. this is the error:

0x124 = increase/decrease vcore or QPI/VTT...have to test to see which one it is

I dont think that I tweeked the vcore or QPI/VTT ..
I just changed the values from the suggested numbers.
Hmmm

alright CraZboy, does your computer start to windows with the first advice i told you. raise your cpu voltage to 1.3, and your IMC voltage to 1.3 and make sure your memory is running at stock setting also. run prime95 again and if one core fail just raise the cpu volt ti'll you get stable.

Not all cpu's are the same. Mine needed 1.36v to be stable.
