And the T2i has the best ISO noise management I've seen in a <750$ body.

I'm not saying the D700 sucks. It's just not competitive.

And the 7D doesn't.

Are you blind to the fact that the 7D exists?

All of those things are found on the 1,500$ 7D, which is comparative to the D7000.

No, I didn't say that.

I said that I had the T2i all along. A friend of mine (Pro Photographer who's worked with me with in several jobs in NYC, such as the Gigapixel panorama on the side of the NY Times building), has a 5D.

I think he's blind like you are, but he carries nothing else.

I think, and have always said, and debated over weeks that the IQ of the 5D is 100% to the T2i's 85%. The 7D is around 90%.

Now, personally, I think that the higher MP count = the better the image looks.

So, I specialize and find my meaning in Gigapixel photography. I have a GigaPan EPIC Pro, a Sigma 150-500mm lens (among many others, none of which are under 500$), and a 300$ 100% steel tripod.

Thus, the extra 15% for 4x the price and the loss of the crop sensor's length of zoom, make it a bad choice for ME.

If the OP was rich, he wouldn't be asking us and he wouldn't have a 40D.

So, the T2i is the only thing that comes to mind.

Different how? The FEEL is different, no doubt. But factually, they both have similar features that professional feel are worthwhile, such as a 87% Magnesium body.

No. It's not.

But I don't have 28,000$ to spend on a Leica.

Stay classy with those insults.

IQ is much more than resolution.

Great. That means absolutely nothing in regards to the OP's question. If you're unable to make a recommendation outside of your specific needs, you have no business making one at all.

You don't and can't know that from anything posted in this thread. Not every wealthy person splurges on every life accessory possible.

Again, because you're only recommeding out of both experience and your needs. Sometimes, it helps to look outside the box.

I'd get the D7000 personally. Unless you feel like splurging £700 more to get the D700 body only for full-frame good-ness.

And you're no doubt going to post some images you've captured with your T2i to convince us all of its superb performance. Looking forward to seeing them.

Yea, I'm giving up on this thread myself. I wrote a reply to his last post then deleted it. Something about being a bio major in the UC system in the city of Merced teaches you when an argument is futile.

We both have the same needs. If you can't see that, read again.

Like I said, I don't think any camera is worth it beyond a T2i unless you're a professional or are rich.

You can argue that fact, but that's my opinion.

You should try that sometime.. and not attack someone and think you're better just because their opinon is not popular.

Do you also get your computer advice from CNet?
