IMHO, you don't really need to overclock your ram. I wish my ram were at those speeds you have there. Before you go overclocking, you should make sure that your system temperatures are cool, with a good push/pull fan system.

Some people using generic RAM couldn't get their RAM to overclock no matter what. Must be IC binning. You may have gotten these ICs which prevent any and all overclocking.
Sort of expected due to 1. generic 1333 CL9 memory 2. 4GB DIMMs
Have you tried increasing DRAM voltage though? May also want to try 2T command rate

Stealth2o: His RAM would at 1333 CL9 actually be performing much worse than your RAM assuming you run 1066 CL5. Even if you were running 1066 CL6, it would be worse.

well, ive read forums on people overclocking the exact same brand, i just dont know what to tweak exactly, i tried increasing voltage in small increments to the max of 1.65, of course, im using gigbytes bios, overclocking tools, if there is an alternative way i dont know it.

I tried that timing, i got three chirps and a restart saying there was an error loading due to overclock. Would i need to change anything with the CPU to overclock the ram? I dont mind OC my cpu, i was going to eventually anyway.

With my asus m489

It seems I have to OC (sometimes) in steps, the saved OC profiles don't work???

So I set the RAM timings and volts,

Then start windows, and restart.

THEN set the CPU, CPU/NB, and both their volts, and then restart

Lately when I load the EXACT same settings from the BIOS saved profiles, it can't load windows 7

Is that more related to windows 7, I don't know
