I would imagine that you should definitely have lower temps dropping that much voltage. Maybe the ambient temperatures in the room were higher during the second run, offsetting the voltage drop. BTW, running 4 GHz stable at 1.25 seems pretty good to me. My 930 gets BSODs pretty quick at load at 4.0 at that voltage.

That's the going feeling on this forum according to most of the OC guides I've read. I don't have any personal experience as I've always used the 21 multiplier. I haven't tried overclocking at 20 or 22. You could always try.

I used TX-4 based on its one of the best out there right now. I'm almost to the point of taking it off and going back to the cheap 30 dollar cooler to see the temps there.

Where is the temperature Diode at?

I went to local store and pick up 212 cooler and at 4.0 ghz max temp are 62-68c on the cores and 52c on the cpu.

I did notice that the heat sink screws on the DH-14 were a little loose. One screw I could turn 1.5 turns the rest where .25. I may try the cooler again. I also went in BIOS and change the fan speed to 100% 24/7

I don't think having the CPU fan at 100% is going to help anything since the fans on the D14 aren't PWM, not sure on the hyper 212+ as I don't have one. On the D14, you should plug the fans into a regular fan header on the mobo since they'll be at 100% and still quiet.

This sounds great to me. I can't come close to those core temps with ambient of 72 and lower core voltage at 3.8. I'd say stick with that noctua.

I since turned off vdroop and get by with 1.26 volts at 4.0ghz.

Whats the difference in having the fans on manual at 100% on all fan headers vs plugging in to it regular fan header. I assume the CPU fan header is just a dictated fan header just so when the cpu need more air the MOBO knows which header to increase?

The 212 + is PWM fan (4 wire) For 30 bucks for the cooler it was a cheap tester. I'm seriously thinking about cutting my case so I can do the switch without taken the mobo in and out every time! lol
