[EA] Crysis 2 PC Demo Released - Page 50

One major gripe that I don't get are those who are bashing this game by comparing it to MW2/COD/BF2. I thought the only major issues with MW2 was that it had a 5 hr campaign and it had no dedicated servers. Also, when was the last time you could turn invisible, use holograms, jump 20 ft high, or slide your way to a kill in MW2?

If they don't have at least DX10 or something comparable I'm pretty sure at least as all of PC benching community is concerned the game is a blowoff.

I could care less what that group considers relevant when they still use Far Cry 2.

I really like snipers is underpowered too much, sadly a 6.5/10 because it does not feature destructive environment like crysis 1. Crytek failed on me there, and for many others. Even though console gaming is a big market to reach, i don't think they should forget PC gamers aka the stupid DX9

While I can agree about the sniper being underpowered, it's a simple fix by giving the other weapons much more recoil and making bigger maps.

For you to give it a 6.5/10 for not having destructive environments is pretty ridiculous. It's exaggeration at its finest.

Also, using Dx9 isn't forgetting about PC. They hyped up Dx10 last time and guess what?! ALL the stuff they did in Dx10 was available in Dx9 when people started hacking the game!

Same here. if it sucks, then thats unfortunate. But I would at least like to try it out for myself.

After reading all the horrible reviews from you guys who have played it, I'm really tempted to cancel my pre-order but I just can't. I guess I'm still holding out for Crytek to redeem themselves and release a worthy sequel.

Whoa whoa whoa your horses.

Destructive environments are still in the game. Usually, grenades and rifle rounds can not destroy much. Single player, if you watched any of the videos, has destructiable environments.

DX9 isn't stupid. This is a clear example of how far DX9 can be pushed. And in reality, it is better than ANY DX10/DX10.1 game on the market, graphically; including all DX11 titles. Which is actually quite shocking. The optimization is there, it runs 4 cores and runs them well.

The benefit for DX11 is better system managment. Tesselation and all that jazz does not benefit the gamer at all when it is used in putting trillions of polygons on a single character where no GPU on the market can handle it at a constant 60 FPS.

The shift should be to 64 bit programs, not the classic X86 we see today. They should really just restrict users and force them to pay for a 64-bit OS and upgrade. I want good games please.

Downloaded demo, played, did not like. (Not that the multi player was something I was interested in anyway)

TBH I find the gameplay stale. Heck I much prefer the game play of Section 8 Prejudice to Crysis2. Visuals, not even close, but for $15 for a complete game I can forego the visuals, presuming they get the server issues fixed this time.

don't you think that might be because there are only 2 maps and two game modes right now? you do know that there will be more maps, more game modes, AND more weapons when the game is released right?

Yes I am aware of that. I just mean the game, IMO, is bland as far as the actual game play. Section 8 is more like Tribes, which I loved. This feels like a generic FPS.

I understand other peoples positions, but I'm looking at this game for strictly features standpoint, I never liked the Gameplay in 1, nor in that matter most FPS's.

They change too much and add all these kill streaks and perks, what happened to just having a gun and being good with it? Favorite console ported FPS to date is Rainbow Six Vegas since only factor is armor and mobility for the most part which is what it should be.

Just to note I don't count TF2 or games like that in my criticism as they are another genre and not applicable. (Great fun tho, portal 2 here I come)

I kinda felt like I was playing Call of Duty. Not a horrible thing but the feel just wasn't right.

Also.. Aim assist proves to be rather useless on PC. I'm much more accurate without it.
