Does anyone know if i can run Starcraft2?

Thread Starter
I am wondering if my specs can run starcraft 2.
I am not looking for amazing graphics, merely amazing game play.
I will mainly be doing 1v1 or 2v2, playing competitively. I won't really be focusing on campaigns or huge map battles.

CPU: Intel pentium E2140 2140 @ 1.6GHZ Cure2Duo
Ram: (Upgrading to G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)
GPU: VGA POWERCOLOR AX3850 512MD3 RT
PSU: PSU ANTEC|NEO POWER 500 500W RT
HDD: HD 500G|WD WD5001AALS
Monitor: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6824236030
OS: Currently windows xp, upgrading to windows 7 64bit.
MOBO: http://www.asus.com/product.aspx?P_I...itJ&templete=2

Will i be able to play smoothly? thanks.

Or perhaps i will also need to update my CPU, and if so, any good cheap upgrades?

The game is very CPU intensive so probably not You should get some cheap quad core, there's too much going on!

Starcraft II is CPU intensive you need to either upgrade your CPU or overclock it. A cheap upgrade would be a Q6600 you can get them for about $100 or so.

At what rez? The link for your monitor is broken. Possibly on low depending on rez. I'm not sure how smooth for competitive.

Here is the link. I run it on default rez.

So basically I won't be able to run it well? I need a processor that can fit my motherboard

You really need a more powerful processor : / It's time to upgrade!

I guess it can run on lowest settings with that resolution, but it won't be that smooth (you will pretty much DIE once you engage someone in 4v4) but it should be fine for 1v1 or 2v2.

The game looks like crap on Lowest settings tho : /

With that computer a total system rebuild would be ideal.
But a new CPU is the first thing you want if you are going to be playing SC2.
Your RAM and GPU will squeak by but your CPU REALLY needs an upgrade.
