H70 cooler and 1090T

Thread Starter
i was looking at getting the H70 to cool my cpu, i went into a local pc shop and asked how much OC i could get out of it using a 1090T and he told me id maybe be able to push 3.8ghz, is this right? i mean on stock cooler i can get 3.52ghz and still be under 55c on full load so is it really worth spending $200 (new zealand $$$$) getting the H70 for an extra 400mhz, or am i right in thinking maybe this clown doesnt really know what he is talking about.

A 1090T with an H70 will get between 4.0 and 4.2ghz 99% of the time. More if you get a good chip. Your call if you really need that much power for the money.

With the NH-D14 (a little bit better than the H70) I was able to get 4GHz while getting 52ish C load. I got a 240mm radiator with a custom water cooling loop and now I am at 4.2GHz with 48C load (ambients right now are a little higher than normal, usually around 44-46C load).
