Hello,

As you all probably know, the new MMO "RIFT" head start started Feb 24th. I've been playing the game for a few days now, however, I can not run on max settings.

With everything manually set to max settings, shadows full, AA supersampling, my FPS is around 20 average....

Any idea what this may be?

hello i tryed almost since start of the beta to get AA to work properly without dragging my fps to the ground
but today i found a fix (for nvidia users atleast )
download nvidia inspector
add rift.exe to it
go to the line antialiasing compatibility its on 0x00000000
change this line to 0x00003301
then set antialiasing mode on overide any aplication setting
then set antialiasing setting to 4x
set antialiasing transparency supersampling to supersampling
the set anisotropic filtering mode to user defined /off
then finaly set anisotropic filtering setting to 8x
save setting and start rift at max setting incl supersampling at max i use aswel a 580 in SLI
and this boosted my frames to steady 60 fps all maxed out big rifts around 50 fps before with supersampling on dropped to in low 20's
this helped me and my friends allot we play all maxed out with AA now steady and smoothly
hope this works for u aswell almost 100% sure it boost the fps atleast above 35 fps on a singe 580 in big rifts

I've tried this, but upon logging back in to the game I lost nameplates over player/NPC heads. I am not sure what went wrong but after I set everything back to default the names came back.

Kinda sucks on a PVP server with no name plates on :-).

With max settings and SS and shadows at full I get about 33 FPS during rifts and 38-41 questing. When I turn off SS I get about 70-80 FPS .Using your method resulted in the same smooth edges while SS was turned off.

Even with my sig set up... I get avg 30 fps. This is with CF enabled or disabled. I have an email from Trion stating Rift is crossfire supported.

What I find odd is that we just put a 6850 single card in my wifes rig, (same specs as mine.... and she sees 50-60 fps on ultra settings. I cant for the life of me figure out why it performs better than my 6970's ... even some of the graphics in Gloamwood (ie the spider webs) looks amazing on hers but on mine look rough and pixelated in areas.

This fix works 100% ..
the only thing I didn't see in inspector is "go to the line antialiasing compatibility its on 0x00000000"

Otherwise all the other settings set with in game max settings including SS and I am getting 35-40 fps with 570hd
