Crysis 1 what....?

Thread Starter
Ok so I wouldn't be posting this if I hadn't left early from talking to reflex 99 lul.

Well see the thing is.....
Crysis: 1920 x 1080 No AA Very High/Enthusiast Settings, GPU bench, time of day: 9

Stock results: i7 860 3.3 ghz turbo. 2x SLI 460 1gb stock 763core
30some fps

OC gpu results: CPU: stock, GPU: 1.087v stock voltage 875/1750/1900 OCCT 1 hour 3error stable/Furmark 75c stable/ Crysis 70C on stock fan stable/100% 50c stable
42fps

OC gpu and OC cpu: CPU HT off 3.8 ghz 4cores same GPU oc
50.93fps

Now the fun begins eh? Crysis is "supposedly" dual core optimized after C2Ds
Well

OC cpu: HT off, 2 active cores, 4.2ghz same gpu oc:
41fps

WHAT????????????
High overclock and dual core = 10fps loss???????

Crysis is 4 core optimized. Crysis cares more about the number of cores than the speed of the cores.

Crysis is not optimized for anything, it was a sub standard game that made everyone feel like their weel built rigs were crap.
It is like 4 years old now, what other 4 year old game still runs like that?
I had some 4850s in xfire and now i have 6970s in crossfire and there really is not a huge difference.

I heard to the contrary where it is clock speeds rather than cores that count. Hmm. Well my benches prove to the me wrong. I suppose a thuban would be better here? Well probably not since this is game is intel optimized or sponsored in part.

Can't multi.
Hey now Crysis SP is actually quite fun. Does make people feel bad about their rigs though.

You should be getting great fps on 6970s . Around 88fps average under 1920 I believe.

Still 50fps is nothing to knock at for two 460s

When I get my WC stuff and overclock the CPU and gpus .. Look out 480 sli

Crysis is optimized for 2 cores, not four, which is why the ad for Intel's Core2Duo shows up on the intro. As for the OP, try leaving all cores on and check the CPU usage while you play to see if you are bottlenecking somewhere.

Sub standard? Optimized poorly maybe, but sub standard? Show me any other game released after Crysis with the exception of Metro and Warhead that can match the graphics. Also, if you aren't experiencing any difference between your Xfire'd 4850 and your 6970s, you are doing something wrong.
