Crysis 1 what....? - Page 3

Warhead is better optimized and therefor makes better use of any SLI setup. This is a common occurrence for everyone who tries a CrossfireX or SLI setup with the original Crysis. Lower the shadows to medium and check back. I actually left the shadows on low and they looked more realistic in terms of the sun shining through the trees as you can't see this crisp outline of each leaf on a 20' tree in real life. Shadows tend to murder any GPU as they're shadows of EVERYTHING THAT MOVES. Don't turn them off though as the game actually performs worse than if they were on low.

Could be that. My 3.83 was a stable OC.
The 4.2 was 1minute linpack tested.
I just wanted to try it out. 1.35vcore 1.3imc xD

My gpu OC is very stable. 1 hour OCCT. 1 hour furmark. Multiple hours of gaming, has been working for months.

Psu is a corsair 750tx. Overkill psu for my system tbh.

See at 830/1660 you surpass 470 sli stock performance

So in theory 1000/2000 should be close to a 480 sli.
lol.. 830/1660.... hm...

i run 860/1720/2200 on my card for benching

most of the time i actually run my cards at stock..

since i can't see the point of higher then that...

since i use VSNYC and never drop below 60fps for more then a second (maybe to 55fps lol )

That is the problem with the 460...

2 cards is the max you can have...

I went for the 480 because back when i got it.. i didn't know about the SLI hack and intended on running just one really good card...

but since my mate got one and i found out about the SLI Hack..

i was able to try it.. and i found it worked..

so i bought second one for myself

Congrats!

Correction on my part though... Apparently the GLH of palit @ 800 beats 470s or EVGAs FTW @ 850s beat the 470s. Well my cards are sort of like 470s with a mild OC.
Now factor in when I buy these http://www.performance-pcs.com/catal...ducts_id=29167

And boy... Hmm
Total purchase:
$400 for gpu
$120 for cooling
Knowing you perform better than things that cost a ton more than toy
Priceless.

I love the 460s and in my eyes, there is no true successor as of yet. 560s are garbage. 570s come close though. Great budget performers in price to performance.

But I sort of think. In Crysis I don't think I'll be gaining much fps and really it is pointless. In metro I don't give a ssssssss. All other games I max with 4aa lowest to 16QSAA or 32 AA with multi 8AA max. And I still get 40+ fps with all that VRAM hogging. What the hell is the point my friend? 1920 is pretty easy to max. 51fps in Crysis is respectable, nothing to cough at. Makes me feel like what. I sort of debate getting WC blocks as what would I really gain?
Also I was thinking of getting Kepler but really... What's the point? So I get 40fps more ? Whoa 100fps, I'll really notice that at 60hz. I don't really know anymore. Devs are asshats who can't code for ssss. Make a game that's graphically pleasing you toads. Stop coding for consoles. So I get keeper first gen? Then what? Blah. I think I'll stick around for next years kepler refresh. Kinda like 500s were the fermi refresh. Dunno guys :/

what is this thing called a jagged edge???

lol

anyways... i am looking at 3d vision and surround soon...

I hate you and your VRAM! When I bought my gpus the only 2gb ones were non ref palits :/
I wants more vrams D:
But I love never turning down settings to play xD max everything out except metro, so I'm pretty happy. I used 32xAA on Red Faction Guerilla. Everything was so smooth. Used 860mb of VRAM though :| no performance hit xD. 60fps sailing through.
I wish I could do 2d surround. I mean with enough of an overclock I could probably keep settings on high across 3 screens right?

yup.. you would just have to sacrifice AA..

the 460 is still a great card..

It is like 4 years old now, what other 4 year old game still runs like that?
I had some 4850s in xfire and now i have 6970s in crossfire and there really is not a huge difference.
This is a common misconception

Do you have ANY idea how big the gaming world is in crysis?. Everything you see for kilometers is live with physics attached. The ported consol crap we are seeing now have narrow scripted paths with effectively painted backgrounds

Crysis was about 4-5 years too early for the hardware, over ambitious. If you took time to play with the sandbox editor in Crysis you would understand how amazing the engine is.

Oh and lastly have you notice how it has never been ported to consol? the stated reason is the 360 and PS3 have no where near the grunt to run Crysis1.

It saddens me crytek made. Such a blunder. Sigh oh well. It's a glorified cod. But I like cod so I'm happy
Lol I guess I can apply a whole lot of AA, maybe then I wont be drowning in tears at how everything looks so bad.
