Crysis 1 what....? - Page 4

Crysis uses 2.5 threads.

And by turning off all the cores but 2 will show a drop in performance as windows is having to run in the back ground on 2 cores instead of 4.

Do you have ANY idea how big the gaming world is in crysis?. Everything you see for kilometers is live with physics attached. The ported consol crap we are seeing now have narrow scripted paths with effectively painted backgrounds
Yeah that is all fine and well but a good framerate up close is waayy better than the physics of a falling tree 4 kilometers away. It is "big" but very linear so it kind of defeats the purpose of having this huge world.

Crysis was about 4-5 years too early for the hardware, over ambitious. If you took time to play with the sandbox editor in Crysis you would understand how amazing the engine is.
Why would i take the time to play with a sandbox editor?

Oh and lastly have you notice how it has never been ported to consol? the stated reason is the 360 and PS3 have no where near the grunt to run Crysis1.
That does not make it a good game, if you put crysis graphix on two worlds would two worlds be a good game?

Dunno, I liked the story quite a bit, have a few playthroughs under my belt. But when you say that, and when others say graphics don't make a game... Tell me what game as good graphics. Metro2033?! Yes that was a fun game. BC2? Godly game. But most games have lack luster graphics that do not impressive, and frankly I've gotten quite tired of it all. AA actually helps me get over that, you have got to play some TF2 with 32xQSAA. It is superb, but having no jagged edges does not make up for the fact of poor graphics. I wish devs would utilize dx11 more, especially after seeing what tessellation could potentially do from Nvidias videos, add some beefed up character models and fantastic imagery and look what you have.. A moving picture. Which I'm sort of fine with, I justify getting a good gpu for that. Graphics don't make a game, but it sure as hell makes it that much more enjoyable. SC2 is a good example. Even if it is an RTS, it's a beautiful game. I've played from max settings to even on medium on an old laptop.
If it was lack luster quality then people would still play it. But damn does it enhance the experience that much more.

Kindof like a person. Looks aren't everything, it's the content of the character. But if they have looks, isn't it just that much better to date them/relationships? Wouldn't you get tired of dating ugly women with wonderful personalities after a point? I would (well I am sort of shallow) and im tired of seeing games like that. First we get some real bad console ports, and few games these days have great story lines and captivating gameplay as years past (few titles I can even think of this past year?... FONV comes to mind). Devs get a whole variety of tools at their disposal to make a good looking game, I mean come on in that small pool of games consoles don't happen to snap up from us as we get the scraps THEY ALL LOOK BAD. Is it really that hard as a paid professional to create a good looking game? Really? I mean you get paid well I'm sure.. And if you took the job shouldn't you be passionate about it?

This isn't anything against you btw. I whole heartedly agree with you but this is just a mad rant against the world that always says graphics isn't everything. WHAT GAMES HAVE GOOD GRAPHICS MAN? I don't see $$$$$$ games having wondrous graphics. Usually bad games have equally bad graphics.
