AMD Phenom II X4 965 OC - Page 3

I've gotten it to 1.344v and shes stable with no crashing after 100% testing for about 10 mins. It's not a long enough test. So I'll run it when I go out for dinner with friends. Hopefully it gives a good idea. Temps are now at 51c during load. 43c during idle.

Temps are much better

Ok, Voltage at 1.328v Lowered the mem volt to 1.850. Did a 20 min test and temps held stable at 55c. Still higher then I should be. But I'm reading up, though can't find alot of information about OC my cpu with amd overdrive. Alot of the 955 though..haha

IMO, 1.8 is the danger zone for memory, I would definitely lower that. Especially if you aren't trying to overclock your RAM.

Also, I do my overclocking via the BIOS. As do most members on this forum.

It looks like he's using DDR2 RAM, which is usually stock at ~1.8v and can usually take up to 2.1-2.2v safely.

Yeah, that AMD overdrive can be a pain once u start hitting BSOD's much easier to OC from bios. Though I havent tried much myself bar the CPU up thing which suits me fine. I did try that Amd Overdrive deffo a nuisance!

1.850 is the lowest I can do within AMD Overdrive.

To update,

Ref clock 204 up from 200
CPU Volt down to 1.296v and still stable. I've been slowly lowering till I find the drop point.

I'm happy with the 3.68Ghz OC. As I get more experience and learn more I'll try for more. I'm just trying to lower the temps still before I try and speed it up any further.
