CPU cpu still running hot.. CPU Bad?

Thread Starter
My i7 950 idles at about ~38*C .. I started prime 95 for 5 minutes and the temps got up to ~90*C, I just reapplied thermal paste too, Im using stock heatsink right now.. The CPU was getting up to 100*C within 10 seconds of starting prime95 with the stock cooler and stock thermal grease but I put some new grease on and it still gets up to high temps just takes a little longer

Did you seat the cooler correctly? Did you use too much thermal paste? Not much is needed. How did you apply the paste? Also, What paste did you use? Silicon-based (white) thermal grease is not as effective as something like Arctic Silver 5, which is my favorite.
