memory not reading all 6GB

Thread Starter
I have 6gb installed but windows is only reading 4gb. Why does it do this and is there anyway I can make it read all 6 gb. Any help would be great.

Heres a photo: http://i54.tinypic.com/11uxh1e.jpg

I am using windows 7-64 bit.

The memory i'm using is:
1 stick of 2GB crucial
2 sticks of 2GB Patriot

Thank You

You could try msconfig and select "Normal Startup" then restart.

If that doesn't work, check your cpu socket for bent pins.

I"m sure his bios recognize it, because windows does. if you look at the picture it shows its 6GB and only 4GB usable.

I had the same problem. Switching the RAM sticks around fixed it for me.

Try to install it in another PC? to secure it's not broken. Else may have to switch slots in case the slot on the motherboard is broken.
