I'd say 590 will be closer to 75-80 percent faster than the 580 making it faster than the 6990...

I really doubt the 6990 will beat the 590 overall. Sure it may do better in a few benchmarks, but the 590 will be the faster card

Theoretically that'd be true if you SLI'd 2x 580s, but depends on how much Nvidia has to downclock the card to make sure power stays within reasonable levels.

The last X2 card Nvidia made was the 295, when SLI scaling was much better than Crossfire. Now they're about the same, and depending on the clocks on the GTX 590, this could be a close one.

Meh, with similar clocks I could see this equaling sli 580's... I mean c'mon guys this is the same debate that comes out whenever there is a new top card. (well u can SLI two less costly cards and get the same performance yada yada fuhgedaboudit) The bottom line is, if you want the best its going to be the 590 but its also going to be the most expensive, unless the rumor of various 6990's turns out to be true- in which case the bigger 6990 may be more and therefore perform better...) C'mon now this happens every 2 months.

After having the fastest graphics card on the planet for 1 year and 4 months, it's about time! I doubt I'll buy it, unless Battlefield 3 needs more horsepower for completely smooth gameplay.

At least I'll still have more shaders, even if they are less powerful.

Who else doesn't need translation? LOL

Edit: OK i haven't seen anything that made me say OMG, that's interesting. We were pretting much expecting this. Dual 1536 core GPUs... AMD and review sites need to stop the hype. nothing is interesting here.

if i know anything about nvidia...this card's gonna be crushed like a bug, its glory will be cut short.

that's why the mouse(AMD) can only play when the cat(NV) is away..in this case the cat has always been eying on the mouse.. the mouse has to come up with magic to beat the cat out on this race..

wake up call for AMD!!

and...

..hell yeah this can play CRYSIS..
