470 SLI on 600w - Page 6

From what I have seen on my own rig, using GTX285 SLI + TX650 and a GTX470 by itself.. I would not want to risk it. The GTX470 clocked at 900mhz core pulls as much as both of my GTX285's do combined.

*I would be looking for a quality 750-850W PSU for SLI with GTX470's

A little bit, not too bad. I scored like 500 points lower in Vantage than an i7 930 with the same overclock.
yea, a lot of people also dont remember that wattages on review sites are AC voltage reported at the wall. efficiency needs to be calculated and that is different for each PSU

and at 4.4ghz that i3 is screaming, lol. you still have 4 threads so it is probably a great budget chip seems a lot like my E8400 if i had HT

that cant really be true.. the GTX285 is a 185w GPU and having 2 of those in the rig and then even OCing the GTX470 (215w+OC) shouldnt be close to the 300+w the 285 SLI was using.

how are you measuring these loads?

I'm just sick of people trying to justify babying their PSU or being afraid to run it at its rated wattage for some absurd reasons.
