Firefox+others start freezing over time with SSD

I have a G.Skill 60GB Phoenix Pro SSD and a Samsung F3 1TB HDD.
Windows 7+programs are installed on the SSD and games/music etc on the HDD.

My problem is that after maybe an hour or a short period of time my programs tend to not respond ALOT. I see it mostly with Firefox, however it also happens with itunes/msn and actual os windows like "my computer".
What happens is firefox will not-respond for 20 seconds, then work again for 5 seconds and just rinse and repeat this cycle, making it un-usable.
When i try shut the PC down after it has done this, it stays at the "logging off" screen for 10 minutes+ untill i get fed up and just push the power button. Then when i turn the PC on again it loads past the bios and the windows bootup screen, but then the screen goes black and the login screen does not appear.

For some reason unplugging my 1TB HDD allows me to bootup and log back into windows after all this has happened.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If it's any help, I was having similar problems recently with Win 7 Pro x64 installed on a WD Velociraptor 10K drive, with a F3 1TB for data disk, 6 months or so after the install. Last weekend, I replaced the velociraptor with a Crucial C300, reinstalled Win 7 from scratch, and all of this has cleared up.

Based on this, I'd be willing to bet the problem lies more with Win 7 than with your SSD. In the bad old days of Windows NT, 6 months was about as long as I could go before the thing was so cocked up I had to do a fresh install. Windows XP SP3 was a lot better but a reinstall every year and a half or so made a big difference in how things ran. I think this is just the reality of running Windows.

That does not help me at all because this happens 1-2 days after i do a fresh install.

I have reinstalled windows like 7 times over the past week.

After i isntall windows 7 it works fine for a day and then it all goes down hill.

one program freezes and then my whole computer freezes. When i restart the PC i am not able to log back into windows unless i wait 10 minutes for the logon screen to appear. Then after i click logon i will have to wait another 10 minutes for it to load my user profile.

Then, if my patience lets this happen, i still cant do anything because everytime i click something the pc freezes for 5 minutes before anything happens.
