Meh, quadcore+low end gpu (yes I know its apu), no thanks.
And like someone already said, Intel has had SB out, while AMD hasnt released this yet.

I wouldnt even consider an apu only laptop till 2013, because they have a long ways to go before they catch up to gpu's. And by then nvidia will be in the processor market, which will make things interesting to say the least.

I still like dedicated gpu's as well but everything we have heard and seen on llano so far seems to indicate that it will perform at a level that it should be plenty for anyone who is not a huge gamer who needs the absolute best settings.

Especially for notebook solutions llano is a no brainer, the graphics performance won't be touched until you start getting into dedicated gaming laptops which of course will be much more spendy

hmm, graphics at least 4x last gen isn't enough for you? well, im pretty sure amd will come out with some sort of next gen hybrid crossfire that will improve performance ~80% too. that not enough? game on your desktop then...

^^This^^

Think average consumer. They're not about to be encoding and compiling on their laptop, they're going to be watching videos, youtube, porn. Yes an SB may well beat Llano in cpu tasks, but a system is only as strong as the weakest link.

i concur with your concurrence.

The only people who really will use or need more raw cpu power then a llano can provide will most likely either be using a desktop for that or purchase a laptop that is at a much higher price point.

For joe shmo this will perform better for what they want to use a laptop for.

Of course that doesn't keep young impressionable minds from purchasing macbook pro's for homework and storing mp3's

Why? It's completely different thing.

Brazos is good for mail check, clients management, etc while Llano is more for design, trading or whatever else you do for the money.

Anyway, since Llano is still using K10 based (most likely based on Propus), I am quite sure Sandy Bridge beat Llano in terms of CPU performance.
Remember that Clarkdale is capable to compete against Propus in multimedia application. And Clarkdale beat Propus in any single threaded benchmark.
Sandy Bridge is noticeably faster than Clarkdale.

Integrated vs Integrated seems fair to me.

Actually it's based on the Bulldozer core using modules. None of AMD's new chips will be using the Phenom core.
AMD Bobcat and Llano are both based on K10.5. The next generation release of Bobcat and Llano will be using the Bulldozer architecture (Stars+) in the case of Llano.

Actually, it shares the same transistors as the CPU if I'm not mistaken, so it's not a separate chip like Sandy Bridge. I may be wrong though...

AMD Llano:

And example of how Intel's APU currently is:

Most of the GPU should be doing the work, but evens till AMD have had 2 years to 'tweak' the K10.5 architecture.
