[AMDUnprocessed] AMD Fusion APU Llano in a Multi-Tasking Technology Demonstration - Page 10

Llano doesn't have any chance in CPU benchmarks, since it is based on deneb architecture (like Athlon II/Phenom II). SB quad core with HT beats Phenom II X6 in both multi-threaded and single-threaded applications. And you are telling me that quad core Deneb beat higher clocked SB ?
:-) I think, Time will answer your questions, you can wait for 2 more months and u will come to know the clock speed officially . Anyway note down the part number !!!

I want this in my laptop. The new i7 SB get's spanked hard like the monkey that it is.

If comparing CPU to CPU performance..... The Sandy Bridge microarchitecture destroys K10.5.

True but until "actual" benchmarks are out, we won't know by how much. Either way though, I'll still buy this

Total experience over benchmarks any day of the week.

Technically speaking you know SB vs K10.5 but not Llano specifically.

You have a basis but it only goes so far.

Sandy Bridge will handily beat llano in traditional benchmarks. My question is does that really matter for how laptops and low end desktops will be used...

Answer: No. 90% of consumers will get all they need plus some with AMD's llano.
i think people need to realize that llano isn't necessarily for power users that want the best performance in terms of cpu power. I think its more for a balance approach for laptops and desktops for people who don't do much other than play music and browse Facebook.

bottom line is though, browsing facebook and watching youtube doesnt require 200 fps. in fact i think it is better to have a stronger cpu so it can handle all the bloatware that is on the laptops these days.

Its on die. That demo doesn't really say anything about CPU performance, though. That 6620M has 480 stream cores v. 12 "EUs." I'm not even sure what an EU is.

I would like to see how it fairs in Cinebench against the i7 and also the i7 + Nvidia GT 425m.
