Why wont this work?

Hey guys,

I am prety new to overclocking but have been building PC's for years so I have a pretty good knowledge base on the hardware side of things.

Ok, now the issue. I recently purchased a XSPC Rasa RX360 kit with the intent over overclocking my Phenom X4 955BE C2. I am running this chip on a Foxconn A7DA-S 3.0 MB (w/the latest BIOS). The issue is that everytime I time try adjusting the CPU multiplyer in the BIOS the system wont even post. This happens even at a 16.5 setting (stock is 16) and I cant for the life of me figure out why. I can adjust voltages, memory timings, and all other setting without issue.

The strage part is that i can make the multiplier adjustments without issue in Windows by using the AMD Overdrive Utility. I have disabled C&Q and ACC is set to disabled within the BIOS. Anyone have any suggestions?

Here is a screen capture of a couple apps that may help:

It must be the motherboard limiting your CPU OC.BTW,I not a big fan of Foxconn Motherboards.

Yeah, I am starting to agree on both counts. Just seems strage that it would be that way, especially since the option is given to adjust the multiplier from within the bios. I wonder if going back a rev or so with the BIOS would be worth the trouble...hmm.
