Where to buy these mechanical keyboards?

Thread Starter
Hi,

I wanted to try some mechanical keyboards, so, after reading a lot, I ended up with two options: Deck Legend Fire (Cherry MX Black) and Das Ultimate Model S Silent (Cherry MX Brown). One of the most important things that made me decide to buy those keyboards was that they could be shipped to Brazil, because I could buy them from Performance PCs.

This week I had a problem with them and decided I wont buy anymore from them, so right now I need some help. Could you guys tell me where can I buy them? Or convince me to buy different keyboards that can be shipped to Brazil.

Keyboard will be used mainly for FPS games (CS, CSS, DOD, BC2) (I play a lot of different games, but my concern is about FPS).
I will use it also for typing things on foruns and to talk to friends through MSN, which is a secondary thing.

Thanks

Try Keyboardco.com. They have a good selection of Filcos and I do believe they ship to Brazil.

As I cant test them, I will have to ask: Between Filco, Das and Duck wich one is better and why?

Thanks

In many ways, those three keyboards are pretty much the same thing. I'd veer towards the Ducky because it has some extras like those multimedia keys, and I think the keycaps are more durable than the other two.

I think Unicomp would ship to Brazil too.

I love my deck legend. If you have the cash I would recommend it. Each key has its own LED and the thing is built like a tank.

I think that the best thing for me would be buying a Deck Legend Fire (MX Cherry Black) and a Ducky Keyboard - MX Overclock.net Edition (MX Cherry Brown) (http://www.tankguys.com/ducky-keyboa...ion-bellb.html).

Why at geekhack.org they flame Ducky and Das keyboards? As a sound enthusiast, I have seen I few chinese products that can be considered very good and even better than high end products from other countries.

Does Filco has a much better built quality?

Just to give an ideia, for me a Overclock.net Ducky would cost R$181,00 (Reais - Brazilian Currency) and a Filco R$242,00 (withou shipping). A R$61,00 difference.

Thanks

It depends on the Ducky. There are low-end Ducky keyboards which aren't particularly well built. The last I checked, the higher end ones are held in decent regard on Geekhack.

As I am used to a G15 (nothing to complain about it, just want to try mech keyboards), my next keyboard must have media and macro keys.

Can I reprogram the media keys and the 4 additional keys?

Anybody knows how the volume keys work? Its just like 3 pre-configured gains (low, medium, high)?

$99 Leopold. Elitekeyboards ships to Brazil. No warranty but hey, you got the sun and the beach right now!

Saude! Buy me a Caipirinha if it works out.
