Can I swap these coolers?

Can I take off the cooler on my G80 8800GTS (this one) and put it on my G92 8800GT? The junk single slot cooler that is on there now is loud and inefficient... I get load temps in the 90's on stock settings.

No, it's a different mount pattern. I have a waterblock for the G92 cards though if you're interested haha Those single slot GT coolers are garbage; if you want to stay on air I'd check out an Arctic Cooling Accelero S1.

I just want it to be really quiet because I am going to stick it in a HTPC case with some other old parts and see how that works out.

I just wish it had native HDMI out.

You can run it passive on the S1 if you have good airflow. Just make sure the S1 fits in the HTPC case... I'm not sure offhand what a good card of that range with HDMI out is

I don't think I need a card of that power just for a HTPC setup... I just want one that has HDMI output. I was trying to assemble a HTPC with random parts I had around collecting dust but I already bought the case and optical drive so I guess there is no harm in buying a GPU as well.

Yeah, and it's not likely to be an expensive one anyway. A G92 GT would be a good card, overpowered, but it does downclock and all that which is good for the power bill. If you decided to use it, it wouldn't be a bad one.

I have a DuOrb that I'd be willing to depart with, for the right price
