Do you need to reapply CoolLaboraties Liquid Ultra

Thread Starter
I'm wondering if Liquid Ultra ever "dries" out. I've heard that AS5 can do so depending on the temps, and since I'm out of G751 myself, I have to get new TIM when I order my next round of watercooling parts. I'm looking at getting Liquid Ultra as I will be going all out for my new cooling project - but I'm looking for other feedback. Thanks for any info!

I would not think there is any type of major evaporation that affects performance: http://www.coollaboratory.com/pdf/sa...a_englisch.pdf

I just wasn't sure if it had a chemical composition to where it would be "absorbed" by an IHS or a waterblock or anything. I plan on getting the EK Supreme HF Nickel so I doubt I would have any issues regardless, however I want to do everything correct with my loop the first time

Thanks for the info Duckie!

Sorry for the late response, I just wanted to add that with Coollaboratory Liquid Ultra (or Liquid Pro) it is best to run your rig at load for a few hours (I leave mine overnight running BOINC for 100% CPU load) and then shut down and tighten the CPU waterblock up a touch more immediately after shutdown and while it is still warm.

From what I can tell, it takes a few hours under 100% load for the liquid metal to spread properly and when that happens it gets right up into every imperfection on your CPU or waterblock faces and spreads more evenly across them and the waterblock actually ends up feeling a little loose. So a quick nip up after a few hours of 100% load and the waterblock is all tight and snug again and the TIM is working better then before

I usually see a few degrees increase in performance from doing this
