My Senior Project - Page 2

You could do a program that monitors a computers temp, then sends an alert to the admin via text message or email when it falls out of a specified range. Fans getting clogged/stuck or people restricting air flow to their computers can be a issue to companies.

See http://geekswithblogs.net/cicorias/a.../22/97855.aspx for how to read temp probes in the computer.

High school. And that temp monitoring alert system is good, I could talk about the importance of maintaining computers, and the rate at which computers fail.

Oh this is for High School? Haha... I think you were definitely overshooting. I was under the impression this was a big college project, or even a graduate school project.

Haha, no it's just an important high school project. I'm overshooting because I want to learn alot about programming because I know I'll need it if I want to work with computers later in school.

Make an .MP3 player, using directx codec, in VB. Then talk about how much more efficient people work when they're listening to music. Have a program to monitor them all, so that none of them are listening to... distracting music?

Sounded good at the time. I did something similar for one of my senior projects.

While your intentions are admirable, i think you would be hard pressed to learn the things required to program such things before the end of the school year. That is unless you have been programming for a few years already and have a firm grasp on things.

I agree on this, I mean, I'm just starting to learn how to program on C, and I swear I'm having a HARD TIME learning this thing!

Hopefully by studying more often and practicing I'll be better

i think you shoudl do a project on as stated temps within the network. Have a program that runs in the background (minimul ram usage is key (use arrays)) then have the programs send the info.... could be temps or anything rly to a master program and do what you like with it. kinda like an admin monitoring softwaare..

doesn't asus (or evga) have boards with OC control via bluetooth?

maybe look at creating an android/ios/flex app that can use that.
