i5 2500k sandy bridge cpu is making my pc freez up all the time,
i hear that the new sandy bridge cpu's have lots of problems,
i would like someone to recomend a difrent cpu that works on the same soket.
anyone?

There's no problems with the CPU, it's the chipset on 1155 boards. Your problems lie elsewhere.

Yes, most of the boards were recalled due to a SATA problem... are you using all your ports? You might want to RMA the board or see if they can upgrade you whenever a new one comes out. What kind of Motherboard do you have?

Sounds like you didnt seat the heatsink properly

New boards are expected to be available quite soon. Considering Asus and Gigabyte have already shipped replacement boards to retailers and warehouses in the US, I'd guess that in 2-3 weeks they will be readily available.

As stated, Sandybrides CPU's are fine and there is no issue with them. The problem is with the P67/H61/H67/N67 chipsets which have less than optimal interconnects for the SATA 3Gbps ports and a Transistor that overvolts them.

The problem is a long term one and should NOT present itself even within the timeframe to receive a replacement.
