Crysis 2 demo DX9 (hardcore settings) is BS. As I said before, I never got above 63C in 4hrs gaming yesterday, yet BC2 Vietnam can easily take my Hawk to 64-65C within the first 30 mins.

Let's see what crysis 2 can offer with DX11...

@TheZekMojo: If Kombustor gives you 85-90 then 91C on cyrsis 2 is not really surprising.

Try to replace your TIM, clean dust on your card or even put another case fan on the side panel

Thanks for the help, but isnt it software related? Because every other game give 75c MAXIMUM and stress tests get that (91c), well now its 89c but w/e.

Maybe it is too demanding, more so than other games/tests, and because of that it get more heat up?

your card reached a temperature limit and it under clocked itself to cool down and avoid damage, but i think 90C is still safe.
Maybe your card overclocks are unstable

At first I thought it was software related, too but then you said Kombustor already gave you 85-90C then it's not. Let's put it this way, my previous 470 topped at 82C in Kombustor and after 2 hrs in Mafia II, my screen flickered and I saw temp at 104C (usually 75-76C), now that's what I would call software conflict somehow cause the card's fan to stop spinning but your card is just simply running hot.

104 C is the maximum thermal temperature for GTX 460 so if ur running NEAR that, that's dangerous and could be unstable.
do not overclock.
provide your card more airflow by cranking the fan to 100% and add more case fans, and side panel fan.
change TIM.
and turn on vsync.
anything in the 90s is on the toasty side.
i have a SLI sandwich set up and my top card after a cooler mod only reach 86 C max.
again if you are overheating, remove any overclock and run at stock.

My GTX 460 hits 98C when it's not even overclocked!
Unfortunately it has to clock at 700/1400/1550 with 900 voltage to stay around the high 80s in Crysis 2 demo. The card is dust-free and the TIM has been replaced with IC Diamond 24. I think EVGA is sloppy at making these cards. The first few months temps are normal, under 75C. Then weeks go by, gradually reaching higher temps. Right now i'm trying to get a free shipping RMA from them.
