Some 'Space' Issues on Asus Rampage III Extreme - Page 2

I wouldn't get the H50, but if you do the paste that is on the cold plate is much better than AS5; it's Shin Etsu. I think you'd be better off getting the H70 to be honest. It's a bit pricier but should offer you much better cooling.

And as far as I know the Antec DF-85 only has 7 expansion slots. You will need at least 8 if running quad-SLi (which I now see is impossible without the expander ). May I recommend the Cooler Master HAF X (it has 9 expansion slots).

So maybe try for Tri-SLi and add an audio card on the bottom if it fits if you're dead set on the DF-85.

And to be honest, I think you're be better off just getting 3 GTX580s, even if money is basically no object, you're not going to gain much performance from having 4, but you are going to get some very hot GTX580s running them all right next to each other.

With regard to cooling, a custom water cooling loop (or two) with water blocks on the CPU and all the GPUs would be best. That would sort out the heat and clearance issues with the GPUs
If I run 3 GTX 580s I can fit the sound card in, how would I get water cooling into the GPUs?

Yes and you wouldn't even need another case.

I linked to a gpu with waterblocks already installed, you would then need a pump tubing a res and a waterblock and fittings and biocide rad all that.

You might wanna go with a different case anyways like the corsair 800d if you are doing watercooling stick a 480 up top.

You'd be better off getting just two of the GTX 590s at that price. Space them apart and they should be fine. Lol.

When are GTX 590s out?

Also Those EVGA's have only 1.5 GB RAM where the Palit have 3 GB RAM, or at Triple, does it really not make a difference.

@luvsan, What is a res and biocide rad?

I might look at the Classified Motherboard then.

EDIT : Bear in mind I'm in the UK, so some of these parts are not available yet, but I am not buying for at least 2 months. Treating myself after movign house and getting some cash from the sale (downsize)

Hope your flat is not too small some of these cases look like monsters lol. This is the case in my place practically gotta climb over my haf x.

Yea it does matter depends on what res you are playing at, i should hope it's a really high one but even 1.5gb gets you there but since you are sharing it between the cards it is a good idea. The evga one is just nice cause for one it's single slot for two it's already got a block installed if you were doing watercooling that's about it you can install a block yourself i you wanted to side by side these babies get hot on air.

EK supreme HF block.
Res you can pick anything that holds water from that cheap swifttech to that helix one.
distilled and pt nuke.
rad depends on if you want quiet or not, xspc rx rads are great for quiet. black ice extreme for not.

I dont know what Nuke is, can you explain (I hope it doesnt mean nuclear bomb :O)
And I can use Black Ice Extreme for the Radiator

Quad-SLI is just a waste of money. Go for the Tri-SLI, save Your money and buy something else like huge TV or clothes
