we've also heard that tons of times and yet here we still are, and the article is talking about retail games, saying digital distribution is the future.

Keyword: Retail.

Similar to the way Video rentals for your DVD player are going the way of the dodo.

I am with so many others, i voted to reserve my judgement but only because i hope they fix this before the game launches but they probably won't.

SLI is broken, do Dx11...what the hell????

And the obvious console port BS that everyone has constantly pointed out.

i cancelled my PC pre-order and will not be buying this game until i see for myself once it's out that it's better than this demo.

No it isn't. That is a crap article that is referring to "Retail" games. As in the physical box and manual. Digital distribution like steam and d2d are thriving.

Yes I know it's going to be on consoles, I watched the live announcement when they were letting people play it on consoles. Duke Nukem has always been on consoles so It's not a big deal, but crysis changing over, thats a problem. To me DN looks great, fun, and very intuitive, unlike the demo Crysis 2 demo I played.

@Superhead & robwadeson

So, would it be safe to say....PC gaming as it was once known is on the decline? I mean, I can now see why so much negativity when PC games are ported but to say PC gaming in general is dying is false in my eyes. But of course, to some.....that means it would be dead.

I guess all we can do is rely on some developers who refuse to dumb down their games.

Any way, this subject makes me sad. I just got into this and I love it.

I thought Crytek was developing a dedicated PC version that would have all the IQ goodies, could of swore that I read that some where.

Definitely not system taxing like Crysis was, took quad sli 8800GTXs to max that at the time.

Oh and at least we won;t have years of "But will it run Crysis 2"

This is sooo true.

Steam is the absolute best way to sell a game these days.

Crysis 1 got where it is because of PC gamers. If they'd released it on console with run of the mill graphics the franchise would have died ages ago with nary a whimper.

Now I don't mind them trying to appeal to the console market with Crysis 2. There's a lot of money there. But we keep seeing evidence that very little effort is being put into the PC version, culminating in this demo that feels like a direct pull of the console version of the game, without even the five minutes of adjusting settings to make it more homey for PC gamers.

It's insulting. I'm not going to make the snap judgment that the final game will be crap on PC, but right now I'm not very hopeful.

Sounds to me like ur complaining just to complain... who cares what they port its a company its in the companies best interest to obviously go hard at the console community, who cares. As long as they give us PC gamers a solid game I dont care thats for sure. Ive played about 3 hours of the demo online and I love it. I will definatly put the 60$ for this game. Crytek +1 good job.

Console gamers +1 as well... without consoles we wouldnt be where we are in the PC gaming community, the consoles push PC games as well as PC games push the console market.
