The changes they made to the nanosuit abilities greatly enhances their balance and usefulness to me. Being able to use a power jump and go into speedmode without changing suit modes is much more fluid and fun.

While they did almost directly copy the killstreak rewards from CoD, they introduced unique perks. They aren't overpowered, and nobody spams the abilities (I've only seen 1 or 2 air stomps).

The maps are small enough where snipers can still be useful, but it's nearly impossible to camp. (I've only seen 1 camper that I raged at, but he was shut down pretty quickly).

Personally, I *like* the small maps and 12 player max. It's less cluttered for me. Unlike small maps in CoD, the Crysis 2 maps aren't confined to linear paths, since you have the power jump.

Maybe it's just early, but I just see *alot* (read: I haven't seen any) less of the things that make me mad in other games (camping snipers, spawn camping, grenade spam).

While it obviously borrowed from other games, it did it well IMO.

Also, the graphics look amazing on my system, idk why people are complaining about them.
I agree. There are so many haters here. You'd think that the Crysis 2 team raped their sister and slapped their mother.

....I'm willing to bet that you are one of the many misinformed that are willing to pay $60 for this game, which is why stuff like this continues to happen. I bet you also think TDU2 is a good game too.

It seemed like a decent game to me. I'm not a huge fan of FPS because of the multiplayer nazi's, but I actually was able to get a few kills in this game. Way better than COD in my opinion.

I would like the see more graphic options tho. Selecting "Hardcore" means what exactly?

Hopefully the DEMO is a port, but they will be adding more features for the pc with the final release.

No I wouldn't pay $60 for this game. I wouldn't pay $60 for the oh-so-precious BF3, or any other game really. I payed $46.99 for my pre-order back in June or something.

But I thought we were talking about the actual merits of this game, not the price?

A demo is supposed to be a demonstration of what the game can do, so you can decide whether you want to buy it or not. The definition of demo is just that. It's not a beta. At this time from release, it's obviously ready. Portal 2 is ready, said Gabe Newell a few days ago; it is completing final validation and then be recorded into DVD's to be sold at retail. And Portal 2 is only coming in April.

I guess you made every critic's point with that. It's all a question of money. If a game isn't that great, you'd still buy it for a better price, sure, why not? The point is, this game is starting to seem more and more not worth the asking price, and that's why many people are saying they will grab it from the bargain bin in the summer or Christmas sale.

Trouble is, Crytek wouldn't even exist if it weren't for the PC community. Far Cry, Crysis and Crysis Warhead came out on the PC and they built their reputation on those titles.

Trouble is the game costs € 49,99 on pre-order and those who pre-order will obviously want to play the game the first day it is available, alas, with no DX11 support, which will only come as a patch, god knows when and with how many bugs, given it's not even been tested by the public in this DX9 only Demo.

DX9 first came about in 2002. Crysis came out 3.5 years ago, and even the demo had DX10. Are we supposed to pay this kind of money for such a release ?

Look at Valve: Portal 2 is a highly anticipated game. It costs €37,99 or € 34,19 on pre-purchase. It's DX9. Nobody cares. Why ? Because Valve has a fair price and makes good games, with good stories, and good character animation. Half-Life 2 and Portal are classics that excel at what they do, they're unique.

Crytek's games have very limited stories. The gameplay is good, but it will always be remembered for it's graphics and pushing the industry forward.

That is what PC gamers expect. That is what makes Crytek unique. Otherwise it's just another shooter with a regular, less than stellar story script.
