I agree this is not a good thing.

Why did most people bash Crysis 2 before actually having a retail version in hand? To be honest...it still puzzles me and I don't think there is one single answer to this. In my opinion, some folks hop on the bandwagon because that's just what gamers do from consoles to pc is what I've seen. Some folks simply despise anything console related or even a trace of it, so the fact that Crytek went multi-platform....it was bound to go down hill just for that matter. (Which leaves me to wonder if the demo would have gotten nearly the same amount of flak as a PC exclusive, in the same state as it's in.) The list can go on and on, I'm sure.

I personally think the graphics look better than Crysis 1 multi-player as it is. But not better than Crysis 1 with mods (why were visual enhancement mods created to begin with again, if it was such a beauty.....hhmmm?). But the bottom line is, negativity flourishes here. Some call it opinions,....but there is a difference between disliking something with a rational statement vs being irate over something as minuscule as "press to start." At least Crytek took out the press LB/RB for map voting....imagine the fury that would have brought about?

Retail isn't out so I can't bash that yet

I am sure the game will get good reviews but I still won't buy it until it is $20 or so but by then I am sure MP will by dead and I will just be left with single player

Also the demo was made to try and convince more people to buy the game. If people are cancelling their preorders over it then that is not a good sign and they should learn to improve on that. They have already recognized this and someone posted a link to one of the devs stating that they want peoples opinions which is a step in the right direction for them.

Personally I can't justify spending $60 on a game no matter how good it is or how many good reviews it gets unless I have actually played it myself and enjoy it. I do however somewhat like the MP gameplay over black ops but I didn't really like blops all that much either (although better than BC2 I thought). Here is hoping to BF3 being amazing.

I am one of those people that absolutely loves the entirety of the Crysis series. I hate to jump to conclusions considering Crysis 2 isn't out on retail shelves yet, but it's hard not to make assumptions given the recent developments.

Outside of Battlefield 3, there really was no other game I was looking forward to more than Crysis 2 (considering the insane amount of amazing AAA titles expected to release in 2011, this is quite a statement).

However, after playing the sub-par multi-player demo and learning that DX11 support will not be implemented on launch, I simply felt betrayed by Crytek.

There are far, far too many indications that this game is a straight console port, despite what Cevat Yerli and Crytek have been preaching for months now about the PC version being its own (and far superior) version.

Unless there's some decent amount of explanation given, it appears that Crytek has pretty much jumped in the deep end regarding Crysis 2, catering to the console kiddies instead of the platform that put them on the map.

CryEngine 3 is amazing, yes; but with regards to Crysis 2, it's nothing special. If the DX11 patch makes some drastic changes to the graphics then i'll go ahead and pick it up; but as of now, my 3-month-old pre-order just got canceled. GG Crytek.

Same here. Although, I've been known to indulge in purchasing release games at $60.....but Crysis wasn't on the list to begin with.

I agree. The criticisms for Crysis 2 are silly and can easily be resolved in 1 patch if its not done already. The main criticism is graphics. Of course graphics are important, but not to the extent a game is deemed unworthy if the graphics are not ground breaking. They also don't take into account that the demo is not running DX11 and multiplayers usually decrease graphic detail to ensure smooth gameplay just like Crysis 1 did.

Another issue is the aim assist which they fail to notice only works for xbox controllers. Then they say that the MP is ruined forgetting that Crysis 1 MP never really took off and it was not that fun. Obviously Crytek know that everybody is going to leave as soon as BF3 and MW3 arrive at the end of the year so they made a fun action packed MP to hold us off for the while. MP was never the focus of the game anyway, it was the SP campaign. They just advertised MP to draw in the console crowd. Nothing wrong with that. Gamers look for any excuse to scream 'console port' when they know that games need to be marketed across the board and for good reason; revenue.

I don't understand this new trend that every MP has to be like Battlefield with huge open maps and vehicles, otherwise it is called a COD clone. I will still get the game if the SP campaign is strong. And as I am bored of BC2 the MP will keep me entertained until BF3 arrives.

Hmmm if you didn't think BC2 was a good game and you thought blackops was better, sorry to disappoint you but your not gonna like BF3.

This.

Crysis 1 didn't become a household name because of it's legendary gameplay/story. Not that those were poor, but Crysis got its name because of its graphics, something that can really be appreciated on the PC. This sequel appears to have features (ie. 6v6) that are not only awful on PC, but borderline unacceptable for even a console game. This game won't have its gorgeous graphics to fall back on, and console gamers will quickly see that the rest of the game probably won't live up to the overall hype surrounding the franchise. Crysis had a nice niche market on the PC ... sadly its new focus on consoles will likely lead to a destroyed relationship with PC gamers and an underwhelming reception from console gamers, who have far better FPS games to choose from.

Why is that. Pretty dumb statement I think. I like BF2's openness and larger scale warefare which is lacking in BC2.

http://www.bf2stats.net/player/114382635/

They are two separate franchises and this has been said many times as they have both their pros and cons (BC2,BF2). Above is my stats for BF2 or at least on one profile since I have played many many hours on this game but just couldn't put the same amount of attention for BC2. Saying I won't like BF3 is silly since I loved BF2, I just didn't like BC2 at all.

They only released a demo because PC gamers flooded Crytek forums complaining that Xbox received one. They probably made a quick port to keep the PC gamers quiet. It appears to have had the opposite effect.
