What's hilarious is that the original PIONEERED and showcased DX10.

Now, 3.5 years later, it isn't even available at launch.

Screw consoles. Screw Crytek.

PS: Am I allowed to openly say I'm going to pirate something?

Whenever Crytek would release a press release talking about their amazing technology that allowed them to make a game specifically for PC and consoles at the same time with no lack of qaulity on the PC title I would always call them out on it and EVERYONE in the thread would bash me for it.

Well I feel vindicated. Like I've said before, of course the developer is going to say that, they can't afford to say, hey, this is going to be a console port, and lose potential PC sales.

I think through the leaked beta and then the demo that everyone is seeing they didn't make ANY effort at all to make this feel like a PC game. ALL the hallmark signs of a console port are there.

We still have the DX9 final release to look forward to, so maybe there is some slim hope of last minute changes but ask yourself this, when is the last time changes that significant have been made to a game within a month of its release?

They "rushed it out" when the game releases in a month after the demo? That doesn't sound true to me. Show me a quote saying they rushed it out for PC gamers or this is just excuse making.

I can't remember which thread in this section is it at, A user stated.

Excuse making? When have you seen me making excuses? I'm just sitting back watching people cry about a "Demo".

Somehow this thread has devolved into one about piracy, presumably over the beta leak.

The leak is not PC gamer's fault first of all, it is the responsibility of the person who leaked it, and to a smaller degree Crytek themselves for not having better security.

The other thing you have to remember is that piracy has literally existed since the first commercial, copyrighted game. I remember when I was kid my uncle bringing over Doom and Blake Stone copied onto floppies.(Don't copy that floppy!)

People argue that the Internet has made piracy easier and therefore more rampant but I don't know how much more rampant. Back in the copy that floppy days it was always pretty easy to find a game you wanted. The industry has prospered and grown throughout that. PC retail sales are down but so are music CD sales. Both of those formats are becoming extinct and digital sales of PC games and music are bigger than ever.

I think a lot of people when presented with the choice of having to go to their local gamestop or just download it from home will just download it from home. If there is a legal way to do that they will, if there isn't they will pirate. My Steam account has something just shy of 200 games on it and a value of over $2,500 according to Steam calculator. The demand is there, the publishers need to embrace the new distribution methods. It cuts down on their overhead substantially and a distributor like Steam not only adds value to their products but takes a smaller cut than a brick and mortar store.

Anyway, there have been enough games to keep me happy, even indie hits like Torchlight. As long as europe exists we'll get games like King's Bounty and other strategy titles. I can live with that.

Why go to a store when I can just sit in my house (especially true in Canada where it is FREEZING out for half the year).

I love the argument of piracy for the music industry and now the same holds true to PC gaming. They say it hurts their bottom line when both the sales of the music industry and PC gaming industry are up.

Putting out a dx9 demo for a game that is known for having the best graphics in 2011 at the price of $60 will hurt your company more then piracy ever would have.

Dx11 to be brought in later, full game seems to be turning into a full blown console port :/

I was severely disappointed by the demo.
Are people actually disappointed by the gameplay or mostly by the graphics?
