Dragon Age 2 Demo Review - Page 2

I dont get the big fuzz about no isometric view. Does it really ruin the game that much for you ? And about the graphics bugs, well as you said they have already fixed it for the full version, so I dont think you should worry about that. As for the combat. I myself dont think it has changed, technically. Sure visually its a lot different, with fire balls everywhere and big sword whirling around, but underneath that its still the same as DA:O. How people (not you) can call this a button masher, I really dont understand. Maybe it doesnt feel like that to some people because they're used to playing on Nightmare difficulty in DA:O and DA2 demo only lets you play on normal. I also dont see how the how changing the menu layout is a big deal. Comeon, how does that affect the gameplay in any way ? As for the Skill Trees being dumbed down, well you could say that I guess, I suppose there are fewer skills and therefor fewer choices. Overall I think DA2 has changed from DA:O the same way ME2 changed from ME1. Its basically the same game, but more streamlined and presented in another way. Some people like it, some people dont. I dont see why a game has to be overly complicated and difficult, and if its not, then it must be a bad console port !

Overall I disagree with your review. I find the DA2 demo to offer more action and fun combat that DA:O while maintaning excellent story and characters, same as the ME1 vs ME2. Thumbs up Bioware !

I liked the demo and I can't wait until my copy gets here on Thursday. The camera thing does bother me but honestly, overall, there isn't a whole lot that changed between Origins and 2.

I love the DA2 demo...it is fun, beautiful, and looks like it will be a great game. Sadly it does not feel like a sequel to Dragon Age. I understand peoples frustrations but almost everything people listed do not make Dragon Age 2 a bad game. Can't wait for Tuesday to roll around.

I found the demo very fun. The problem is that, although I believe it will be an excellent game, I don't think it will make a good sequel. I think the changes are good, but are too far from what origins was. Because of how the camera has changed, and the faster pace of the game, I will be getting this one for Xbox.

I saw my friend play DAO on the 360 and it was hilariously bad looking, clunky, and incredibly bottlenecked with the controls. Only 6 abilities were hotkeyed, and if you want a different one, you have to switch em out.

Even if the PC version is slightly dumbed down, I highly doubt it's dumbed down to the point where I only would want 6 abilities immediately available. PC version will still be king, and I'll gladly fork over the 60 dollars for it (already have, too!). Last I checked, the 360 didn't get a better controller.

Plus, PC has a modding community.

For all of the whiners and complainers who are basing their opinions off of a very limited demo, watch this video. If you think you can handle it play the game on nightmare. I'm going to play on hard since they state in the video that it is more like normal in DA:O, where you need to control your whole party strategically. Nightmare just looks frustrating to me lmao. Nightmare is shown towards the end of the video.

Does this video make anyone else sea sick? Lmao puting a moving DA2 banner behind your host on a webcam is not a good idea.
