This computer is pretty much a dedicated Distributed Computing PC.

Any other suggestions?

That ppd does seem a bit low for the 450. My 450 pulls between 8-9k depending on WU's and small breaks for gaming (2hrs or less per day). It's clocked at 880/1760.

This 6800 wu it is on is pulling 8.4k ppd right now.

I'm not really sure what to suggest, maybe the WU's have changed recently, or could be driver issues.

My guess is that this has something to do with the built-in power protection in the 5 series. Perhaps some chips draw more power and thus kick in the throttling? Perhaps some implementations are just faulty/bad.

Counter-argument (i just realized something): but isnt that only supposed to kick in when OCCT / Furmark are running?

Who knows, but thats my guess.

While this is possible, some of us (me, for example ) are getting "low" numbers with no 5XX card installed. I've also sat and watched EVGA Precision for 15+ minutes (boring...) and never noticed a throttling or dip in GPU usage...

Hence why i countered my own argument. Also, ya the 4 series thing.

This looks like it will be one of those mysteries of the universe.

I hate it when that happens

Considering, in tandem, my 450's net 15.5-16.5k PPD, I'm not too too annoyed by the "low" numbers. Since my temps are so low, I may do some voltage modding to them to get their clocks higher (925/1850)

I was thinking the same thing earlier today. I may attempt to disable OCP through GPU-Z and see if the 570 does any better. The way I read about OCP when the 5 series dropped was that the changes in clock speeds were done without the user being aware (as in you can't see the drop in AB/Precision/etc).
