[CB] It's Official: Retail PC Gaming Is Dying - Page 8

Software piracy answer: Game stop is the best place for console gamers... You can't copy, but you can sell it back, buy used games and have a continuous recycle of games.. Its just a much better value... I'll make a point, a good one too.. The XBOX SLIM is $299, with a 250 gig drive and is plenty space for about 50 games. Guess what you're done with the hardware purchasing for ever.. Nothing to upgrade... All you do is buy games and have fun...

Retail PC gaming is already dead.

The only PC games you find in Bestbuy/Gamestop are Warcraft, Call of Duty, and kids games. When I want a new PC game I don't even bother to look because chances are it won't arrive on the shelf until a month after release, if it ever arrives at all.

Consoles most certainly are easier on your wallet and have a much larger community but I just can't bring myself to buy one.
Console gaming has always been bigger than PC and possibly will remain that way for the rest of eternity.
Maybe if we can devise a way to blow up every 360, Wii, and PS3 we could convert most of the console users to PC gamers!

Dude, I was in the same boat as you... Absolutely the identical boat! I'm a firm believer of console gaming...Just for the cost. The game play is just amazing too.. I'm a keyboard / mouse guy.. I bought device that would allow me to use my mouse and keyboard to play... Works pretty well, and allows me to frag as many people as I can!

Exactly. Netflix>Blockbuster stores; which are going out of business.

...and Steam is growing with ~200% per year. I wonder if there's a connection.

Online PC sales though have had phenomenal growth. I'm not worried about PC gaming.

Well said, along with not having to deal with the skyscraper high stacks of retail games when we could purchase and download games off of Steam.

All I know is that I can choose just about any game on my steam account and find a server with people in it to play with.
