Thread Starter
i just ran prime 95 for 7 hours and was wondering if these temps are too high during the blend test and if i need to remount my cooler.....also are the idle temps ok? and how much higher can my temps go and still be ok?

i am not familiar with the newer cpu's
but when i stress test. i never let my cpu's tjmax go less than 20 (in real temp)
you have 32, so you have good temps, you could push the OC some more as a game will never stress the cpu as much as prime/IBT

also imo if you use Intel Burn test you will stress the cpu more.
you need to run it right.

in ibt set threads to how many cores you have (4?) and then have a look in task manager and notice how much free ram is listed.
click on custom ram and enter an amount just below the free amount.
eg. i have 2520mb free ram. so i enter 2500 into the custom ram.
run the test for 50 passes.
full details here for running IBT http://www.overclock.net/intel-cpus/...test-linx.html

That's about what I would expect on my processor @4.4GHz with the same cooler. But it's an architecture change, so I can't say for sure.

iirc blue screen usually means you need more volts.
add a couple of notches on the vcore volts.
also inlink the ram (keep at stock speed) so the ram doesn't affect the oc.
then just add some more fsb

Yes, blue screen means not enough voltage for your OC. Step it up if you have thermal / voltage room to spare, otherwise you've peaked.
