Looking into h50 or h70 - Page 2

Yes, use the 1156 piece and you're set.

I have the RX360 kit, and it's awesome. And this coming from a guy that never used watercooling before, and had used the H50 for months.

I have an h70 using scythe gentle typhoons as push pulls and couldn't be happier.

I built an i7 930 desktop last September (2010) with Asus p6x58d premium board, moderate oc'ing to 3.6 ghz, and my max temps don't go above 56 C under load, and 41C at idle.

Ive never heard of them leaking and have yet to experience leakage. My only other thought is that if you do decide to get one, leave the thermal grease that they pre-apply ON. Its great stuff, better than AS5 definitely, I know from experience.

Hope that helps.

They say fits any socket so it would work with a 1155 board for sure then?

this kit seems to come with everything i would need after doing some research correct me if im wrong.

Also is it bad to use dyes in the water if so why?

Could i buy this but latter switch to say a t-virus type res?

also looking at sidewinders to buy from but any other people use them? want to make sure hey are good never heard of them till now
Yep, it will work fine. The only additional thing you need to buy is a biocide to prevent anything from growing in your loop. And I hear the included tubing (most clear tubing as well) turns cloudy, so buying some colored stuff isn't a bad idea.

Dyes can separate from water and clog up waterblocks, so using straight distilled water and a biocide is the best option. Colored tubing will achieve the same effect, for the most part.

And yes, you certainly can add a T-virus reservoir down the road if you want. Using two reservoirs is something I've never done, and there might be some small issues you could run into.

Sidewinder Computers is my go-to online WC store.

i bought an H50 at BB for like $50 back when, broke one of the tubes off the rad while trying to install it as an intake on the front of case so it was kinda stretched but luckly i noticed it as i was installing so took back to bb lol waited another month and saved more and bought my own custom built loop.

Am I taking crazy pills or is FrozenCPU's headquarters in California as well? If it is, I say save yourself some money and buy from an out of state vendor so you don't pay sales tax. Water cooling is pricey enough as it is.

It's my understanding that the instructions that come with the Rasa kit are somewhat lacking, you can get support on these forums but it's nice to have it right there on paper. I dunno what your budget is like, I think that EK's kits are probably more newb friendly due to EK including good instructions and easier to use compression fittings, but it costs about a hundred dollars more than the comparable Rasa kit. For that price you get a better reservoir, a better pump, and the aforementioned compression fittings. The performance of the kits will be fairly similar.

I was liking the rasa kit because its basically almost the same price as a h70 so its not to much plus at the moment im trying to stay under 200.

Which site would you recommend thats out of state? ill price compare

Sidewinders is looking good thank you for the link!

need to some how mod a window on to this phantom cause i want to see inside after i get the wc done. Wish i could grab a 800D but price is a lil to high for me at the moment.

Should i mount on the top of the phantom or outside?

The Rasa kit will probably be fine, really, and it turns out I was taking crazy pills, FrozenCPU is in New York.

Trying to figure out the choices I have.
H70
Noctua D14
rasa rx 240 or rx 360

Pretty sure I am going to put my build in a k62 case. running with dual 6970s

What do you guys recommend for 24/7 overclocking of a 2600k?
