Yes and no. Vs a quad of around the same frequency, it kicks ass at transcoding and archiving. However with a 600 MHZ difference, it drops to about the same. If you were to go 1090T or above, it'd be worth it (besides being faster, they're black edition). But IMHO, 965>1055T.

Yeah, 1055T over 965 due to pricing/similar overclockability

I'd switch the MoBo out for some thing with an sb850 and no on-board gpu. like this one....

Not necessarily that one, but one with an 890fx/sb850 chipset. Also something better than 4+1 phase if you plan on OC'ing.
