Side by Side comparison: Crysis 2 vs Crysis 1 *FIXED IMAGES* - Page 12

To OP: Off topic, maybe you could PM me. I was wondering why you chose Plompi's ToD over say another, like Reli2?
Wow just wow..
Unbelievable.

+REP for the comparison.

If only Crysis+Warhead were more optimized then we wouldn't need CryEngine 3...

So you compare a DEMO to a modded Crysis?

FAIL rolleyes.gif

Fact is that if you look through the config file for the leaked BETA you'll find a DX11 path with A LOT more options, The demo is nothing more then medium/high settings in the final game as the configs show.

Crysis 1 MP and Crysis Wars were both infinitely better than Crysis 2s MP.

You only need to watch the first 30 seconds of this video to understand why. And no, this is not fast forwarded or sped up or slowed down. Just raw gameplay with music overlayed. ninja edit: actually its heavily motion blurred by whatever program the creator used.

EDIT: All in all, textures look better in Crysis, everything else in Crysis 2.

I am sure that I will be flamed and criticized but I was also very excited about Crysis 2. I wanted crysis 2 to blow away the first one, I wanted it to be epic in both gameplay and visually. But I am sorry to say that it just wasn't impressive, the graphics are terrible and dx11 is not going to change that. People that say this is just a demo look when the release is... very soon you think they have time to change how the game looks in just a few weeks? I work with programs like maya and have experience in java, you can't just change things like that in a few weeks. This is the way the game looks end of story. The textures are low res, the lighting sucks, and it is dull and boring with poor detail. Anyone who says crysis 2 looks better is just in denial. Just because crytek says it is going to look better doesn't mean it is, they want you to believe that so you will buy the game so they make money.
OK mr.Noob crysis 2 has some bad textures in some places like tanks and wood, i am indeed disapointed that you cannot destroy anything (except park benches) the atmospheric effects are the same and the lighting is better in crysis 2, compare it to real life u meat head, the sun looks amazingly real. the AI is great. the textures on there suits are very nice and with the added motion blur which they have mastered in CryEngine 3 IT LOOKS WAY BETTER THEN CRYSIS 1 dont let the crappy textures on some wood ruin the game for you noobs

Yup. This is what I've had lingering in the back of my head the entire time. Won't be buying Crysis 2.

I've had Crysis 2 pre-ordered for a while now and I'm not gonna pass judgment on it until I get hands on playtime with it. If it sucks and doesn't live up to standards of the original Crysis then I'll bash it then, especially since I bought it, but until then I'll just wait patiently and enjoy the banter between the backers and haters. There are games each year that I have on a list of must pre-order and Crysis 2 was on it along with DA2, ME3 and last but definitely not least is BF3, which looks amazing. Can't wait!

Garbage. Texture and TOD mods or not, this is 2011 not 2007. Crysis 2 should have blown the first one out of the water.
