Got my "Sam Knows" Netgear router :D but..

I just got the package today from UPS.

Its a Netgear N300 Wireless Gigabit Router.

Heres some picture

Now I was wondering if I should use the Netgear N300 or my Linksys WRT160N.
I'm currently gaming on the PS3 while using the computer at the same time. But computer use are general use with light gaming. Got CentryLink "PURE" 10Mbps internet speed.

They are more or less same spec. I'd use the WRT160N if it has dd-wrt on it. Otherwise I'd probably wouldn't mess with the firmware on the net gear router.

Ahh, Might as well give the Netgear router a try and see if I like it. I guess I have to use it anyways Lol.

The WNDR3500 is AWESOME and IMO a lot better than the WRT160N

though I love my WNDR3700

I think Netgear's setup and GUI is a lot nicer than Linksys' but maybe it's me.

but dd-wrt is better than both

for a second I thought he had the wnr2000. The wndr3500 is a ton better than wrt160n, faster cpu and double the ram.

Also, What exactly is a dd-wrt? and what does it do?
its third party linux firmware that has a ton more functionality than the firmware on most consumer routers. Probably not needed in you case, and you probably wouldn't want to tamper the firmware on the sam knows router.

Ahh alright. Thanks darksideleader!

Any word if you actually have to have devices pass through this router?
I'm guessing it does a speed test every now and then and reports the results..

Looking to hang it off of a restricted VLAN to provide open access for DS's. Monitoring bandwidth is a plus since Verizon claims 7 mbps in our area and it drops to ~1.5 mbps every night.
