Can't open some applications

Thread Starter
I bought a new Audio card and 4GB of ram. I installed everything and booted up. I installed the drivers using the CD that came with my audio card, and rebooted.

Now, some applications won't open. For example, when I click on Chrome or Winamp, the cursor shows they are loading for a few seconds, and then they fade away from the taskbar. I thought the additional ram I had added was the problem so I removed it, but the problem persists. I also tried uninstalling the drivers for the audio card and that didn't seem to help.

Does anyone have any idea why this would happend all of a sudden, and why it's only a few apps? (Chrome won't work, but IE loads up fine).

Hopefully you can help me out

It's not only chrome. I can't open Winamp, Visual Studio, Notepad, Avast!, and many other things. Only a few applications are working..

Problem solved, turns out the driver that got installed was bad and it messed up Windows pretty bad. Did a system restore and got drivers from the asus website.
