Internet tv streaming?

Thread Starter
How can I stream tv shows from the internet to my tv in the living room? My tv does not have internet capabilities, but i do have wireless and a ps3. If I miss a tv show on cable I want to go to networks website and stream the show to my main tv. Is this possible?

you need to connect your pc to the tv using some sort of display connection (HDMI, DVI, VGA, S-Video, etc).

You could also try using the PS3's browser but I dont think that would work with most tv network websites.

ps3 will stream netflix to your tv, you need to update the ps3.
i have the roku.com player that works with netflix, often called the netflix player
i have cable internet but have never had cable tv
don't need cable tv unless you watch a lot of sports
you need a netflix subscription, they have a $7.99 streaming only package

Netflix doesnt really work like that. Most shows that are available are shows that are already out on dvd/bluray. The only shows I can think of that are put up weekly are Starz shows.

You might want to look into Hulu. It's available on the PS3 and they have a lot of network television shows available. There is a delay on when they air and when they can be shown on Hulu though. I believe for most shows it's a week but it could be less.

There are lots of digital tv players like Western Digital Live HD and the roku player and such. A lot of them will do hulu, netflix, youtube, and a bunch of others, so one of them are probably you're best bet aside from making your tv a 2ndary out put from your computer.

If I go to CBS or NBC website I can stream the shows on there to my computer. I just dont know how to get it to the tv instead of the pc.

like I said you have a few choices, hook up your computer to your tv by HDMI (or another display connection), use Hulu which is available on the PS3 and carries many networks (but not CBS I think). Your other choice I havent seen mentioned yet is PlayOn. It also works on the PS3 and uses your computer to stream content over to your tv.

here is the content it inlcudes

http://www.playon.tv/content-channels

PlayOn will set you back $39.99 for the first year and $19.99 a year thereafter or you could buy a lifetime license for $79.99.

If I were you I would go for PlayOn, unless you can somehow connect your PC directly to your tv.
