Failed to overclock a 1055T

Thread Starter
Hi mates, as you noticed I'm totally new in the community and that stands for the overclocking experience as well.

Recently I tried to overclock my 1055T to 3.8Ghz, although I manage to make the system running and didn't had any temperature problems, I faced some problems like many crashes of applications, blue screens, etc. I read somewhere that is caused due the bad clocking of RAM and that I have to tweak them also.

In a thread about overclocking a 1055T here in this website there is a detailed guide, but the terms seem to refer for some experts than I am. So I would like to ask if it easy (and possible to be done) to post my specs and you guys direct me somehow how to overclocking.

PS. I'm just a 3D designer, no gamer, no tweaking guy, so please try to keep it simple as possible. Thank you for your time mates.

Greg.

well this is probably fist sighs of an unstable overclock meaning the cpu is unstable, so you must
1. adjust the core voltages by .5 or less
2. after every adjustment run prime95 for ten to fifteen minutes every time, until no errors show up,
3.after that you can adjust the speed again i am sure you can hit 4ghz easy,
4. start to adjust voltage of core again trying running prime95 after every increase
5. Finally when you think you have reached the most stable position (i.e. having the highest ghz and the highest voltages while still remaining 100% stable) then rune prime 95 for 10+ hours and make sure there are no errors

What is the RAM kit you have? A 1333 CL9 kit will definitely hold back the 1055T from full potential. You must have at least 1600 to reach full potential on 1055T. This is due to available RAM multi options at certain bus clock speeds.

It would also help if you could fill out your system info so everyone knows exactly what you're running on. You can fill it out like everyone else in your User CP at the top.

Additional help (after that) would be to go into BIOS, write down all your settings, and post them here so everyone can give you pointers on settings.

This...once you do that you will see alot more help pouring in..cause in overclocking a single weak point can mean stable and unstable.

What is the reported ram speed in CPUZ? (free downloadable program)
If you cranked up your bus speed, you probably increased the speed of the ram as well, causing the BSOD's. You will need to implement a memory divider to keep the memory at the same speed when increasing bus speed.

It would help if you could tell us what motherboard you run; many are unsafe for running the 1055T.

Thank you all for you replies.

Here are the specs of my computer

In the meantime, I done some adjustments in the BIOS settings and got the computer ran at 3,5Ghz without any problems.
When I say without any problems I mean my renders were working fine. In my previous overclocking (3,8Ghz) the 3D rendering program was "freezing" and I had to restart it.
