Building my mother a PC, any better deals than this?

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboB...t=Combo.591512

I would be ordering that right now, but that case/psu is out of stock so I cant get the combo .

The computer dose not need to be anything fancy. My mother will use it for her real estate, lots of emailing and pictures etc. Also, web browsing, facebook, facebook games. They don't really store music or download music or videos etc with it. No gaming other then the silly ones on Facebook.

Anyone want to recommend me some stuffs? Ive been building a cart on newegg, but i can't find anything as good as that deal...arrrrgghh.

Thanks everyone.

P.S. I have Win7 aready. But will need cd rom drive and card reader!

Much obliged

You don't need a quad core.
Mobo: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813138283
Maybe an SSD if you can fit it in the budget? (She'll be able to notice that probably)
Those are all my recommendations.

I know she doesn't need a quad core. But the link to that deal is a very nice setup for $306, but they don't have the case in stock so I can't get the deal! Dang it.

NONONONONO
Not a Newegg POS DIY combo kit! Terrible quality of parts choices with a terribly low discount.. DON'T BUY THAT, THAT IS ACTUALLY A TERRIBLE DEAL
Give me a few minutes to put something together that's so much better for same price for you...

You can't even buy that combo by the way, case is out of stock. Oh well, that "deal" wasn't great to begin with. As with all Newegg DIY combo kits, absloutely pisspoor.

My recommendation:
Athlon II x4 640 + Biostar TA880GB+ - $165
Team XTreem Dark 2x2 1600 CL9 - $45
Elite 331 + PSU - $30
Samsung F3 1TB (Superbiiz) - $60

Price of your combo: $307 + $15 shipping = $322
Price of xd's choice: $300. BEATEN plenty of room for shipping the case/PSU, even then it would probably be cheaper

If you're near a Microcenter, even better. Instant $70 off.

If you need to save another $5 get this Hitachi 1TB HDD $55

I'm just board and really hate DIY combo deals
post #10 of 35
^ I have noticed your hate for those in several build posts.

Edit: The best newegg deals do come from 2-piece combos though!
