Sure it's nice but what awful timing. At least a year late let's be honest.

It does seem like Gugabyte have begun a "ROG" department. This board isn't groundbreaking, IMO.

What it does have is enough useful and Well thought out features to put it way ahead of the competition.

An AM3+ would put it at the top of my BD build short-list

Honestly ROG is republic of gamers(not overclockers) even tho overclockers like it gigabyte has released the G1 to compete with ROG. ROG has nothing on certain things this board has, and you should see people over at XS and most of those guys are LN2/DICE benchers. This board already has WRs across the board, max 990x clock, wprime, pcmark. Only a few people have it too. This board is NOT a gimmick, they cleared teh CPU area for sub-zero cooling by making is uper easy to insulate the motherboard.

For the VRM they really did their job right, they switched out the inductors, changed EVERY capacitor on the board to the POSCAPs, which is just a brand name for tantalum core capacitors. What good is this? well its hard to insulate around traditional capacitors, plus when they get cold the don't work well. The whole board is now very easy to insulate.

The hardware built in for overclocking, with buttons makes it much more stable to manually OC once in windows when compared to software. Plus the 4G button will take any 1366 processor to 4ghz and OC any RAM as well.

This board is stripped of all stupid crap like extra USB and IEEE and other things that take up CPU resources. Personally i think this board shouldn't have audio nor USb 3.0 or SATA6G. But they said they have to sell it somehow.

They put in manual PWm frequency which basically allows you to OC the VRM, and it works. This is only a feature you see on digital PWMs and they have implemented it manually on an analogue one.

The price on this board is stated to be phenomenal. I think it will sell out very quick.

And yea a i7 990x is a subzero bencher's choice.

I got an email about the press release so i posted it VRZON took the info they got from here: http://gigabytedaily.blogspot.com/se...&max-results=7

every thing that i would have said if i didn't hate typing as much as i do.
again for the hard of reading this is not a gaming motherboard at all!!

I just got PISSED!

Marketing.
Nothing more than marketing.

Yeah, it's a good board, I can see that.

But cmon... First ocing mobo?
Meh... most features there are already available on my "outdated" and cheap p55 ftw, except for the high quality electrical components near the vrm...

I bet the price of this motherboard will fly because all this fuzz about it

I'm willing to put money on the fact that this board can get better performance than pretty much any other board in everyday tasks and gaming. The fact that it is stripped of all non-essentials makes it so freaking good. The only downside is that with all slots populated the two X16 slots will run at X8, and personally I would have preferred the board in black and red (I know it has been done before, but it is more flexible for custom builds than orange). That and it needs a waterblock, but I doubt anyone will make one.

I'm seriously considering picking it up for ****s and giggles.
