do i need a better psu for my situation?

Thread Starter
hey guys

this is sort of a psu/cpu cooler thread but i thought i'd post it here =P.
here are my current system specs

MOBO: ASUS M4A88TD-M
CPU: AMD Phenom II X6 1055T OC to 3.5GHz (socket AM3 938 according to cpuz)
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTS 450
RAM: 8GB Dual Channel DDR3
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1.5TB 7200RPM
CASE: Thermaltake V3 Black Edition
PSU: 450W (included with case)

i've only got 1 case fan so am thinking of getting 6 more fans (yea i kno it seems like a lot of fans) to attach to my case. i posted in the air cooling section to get some advice on fans so i've got them sorted now. i will be getting 6 of these - http://cgi.ebay.com.au/CoolerMaster-...item27b8c619c6
Ok, so now to my problem.
1. Can any of you recommend a good cpu cooler that is around 50 - 70 bucks for my socket (and clarify that it is indeed am3)?
2. Will my current 450W psu be sufficient for the system when i add the new fans and cpu cooler? if not, can you once again recommend a reasonably priced psu that is still good quality?

thanks very much for helping me out =]

The Thermaltake V3 is usually overpriced, and its "450W" PSU is a mediocre HEC that might do 350W on a good day.

The Antec NeoECO 400C is a good deal on Newegg right now for $35 shipped. Far better than the Tt TR2 RX 450W that comes with that case.

Not my department. Try asking in one of the cooling sections.

The hyper 212 is a good starter cooler.

if you want to go all out on air cooling go with a D14 or silver arrow.

if you want water cooling go with an XSPC rasa kit.

They changed the price of the Neo Eco when they added in the VP series today. The Eco is now like $55. Kind of saddening really I was enjoying it's amazing price. I would say go for the EA-380D or Corsair 430.

I agree completly with Thrasherht's cooler suggestions
