This is for the radeon 6950 ONLY can be flash to 6970 but has to be 6950 stock hardware card
Ok guys I been trying to get information on the radeon 6950 with either bios flashing/modding/unlocking etc.

It has come to my attention that their are over 50+ different thread about this topic on OCN.

if you are like me and tried of going all over the place to get information about
bios flashing/shader unlocking /bios modding / overclocking results.

I've have started this thread as a central info thread for all question/answer to do with 6950 ONLY bios flashing/shader UL/bios mod/ OC results.

please post your info about bios flashing/shader UL/bios mod/ OC results.

I want everyone to use a color code system to label their questions/answers title to start their post.

it makes life a lot easier.

colors/title
RED=FLASHING BIOS
BLUE=SHADER UNLOCKING
GREEN=BIOS MODDING
ORANGE=ALL OVERCLOCKING RESULTS

FLASHING BIOS what vendor you used? did it work? is it stable.

SHADER UNLOCKING what bios you used? did you use 6970bios or mod 6950 unlocking? did it work

FOR BIOS BIOS MODDING PLEASE list where you got the modding tool from and what setting and bios vendor you used.

FOR OVERCLOCKING RESULT 3 ways to post
1. you may post your screen shots from furmark after 30min to 1hr for show of stability. its must have temp/oc speed/fps/screen resolution/fanspeed and settings used in bench.proof.gif

2. 3dmark11 is ok as well just use Performance preset and post link of score.proof.gif

unigen 2.5 bench with default and screenshot

both must have all setting you adjusted listed as well. proof.gif

3. how stable was your overclock and what did you do?

THANK YOU FOR READING THIS AND helping make this thread awesome:thumb:

I will post do a first post on how it should look like
thank you all thumb.gif

http://3dmark.com/3dm11/744392 6950->6970 oc 925/1375 powerboost stable fan at 55%

i found running it at 925/1375@55%fan runs stable on furmark 81c after 1hr
1280x1024 with msaa8x cpu fan set at 55% seems to help keep temp at 81c to 83c for over an hour a stable testing

[IMG]5488775490_2dd4cc9753_b.jpg furmark_000003 by alicklee, on Flickr

note
i notice when i change the ram speed to more then 1375mhz I get some miror glitchys on my second lcd when

opening and closing youtube videos and such

i am thinking of going back to the 6950 bios and modding it with rbe WHEN works for 6xxx and unlocking shade and core
funny no powerboost give its a better score in 3dmark11/ but unstable clock sped while testing in furmark

what do you guys think of that?

is that ok for a 6950>6970 setup?"

3dmark11

http://3dmark.com/3dm11/752371 my 3dmark @ 940/1400 is the most the ram will clock too and the most gain when compared to http://3dmark.com/3dm11/752211 @ 940/1375

during 3dmark11 if i clock it higher 1400mhz the ram becomes unstable and i get a lower score of 4936 http://3dmark.com/3dm11/752405
and at 950/1450 the system hangs during testing.

PowerColor 6950 flashed

I used the PowerColor 6970 bios, so far stable at 920/1400 1.1v playing Crysis Warhead, Metro2033, BFBC2 few hours each maxed out (max temp ~72 C using MSI AB fan/oc profile)

Unfortunately work has prevented me from being able to spend more time tinkering with this card

Flashed mine. Running at 900/1400 +20% power setting as I don't feel like messing with the overclock (at this point it'd be akin to trying to get more power out of a nuclear reactor). 3dMark11 score of 5224

Got the last PowerColor Rev1 from newegg. Flashed to 6970 and OCs to 900/1425 +20% and that's about as far as I'll take it. There's no need. 3Dmark 11 scored 5400ish, don't have the link.
