Overclocked My i5 2500k, stable for 24+ hrs, now unstable?!? - Page 2

Same thing happened to me on my 2600K. First at 4.8ghz and then the same thing even at 4.5ghz, I had to bump up my voltage in both instances.

Yeah, it's really strange. I hope it's not the mobo, the ud5 and ud7 are expensive mobo's, the most expensive of the sandybridge ones (at least I think so). Hopefully a new bios will come out and fix this. I've decided to go to 4.8ghz and just say screw the prime 95 test. My computer has been running fine for the past couple days.

I have the ud7 and I'm hoping it boils down to bios issues. I'm using f8x and seems to be okay so far. I was running into issues when >5.0ghz 1.42vc (like 5.1 and 1.43 etc). I would shut down and upon reboot I would get a corrupted bios and I'd have to flash the whole thing over again. I can do 5.3 blend stable but for some reason anything over 5.0 and I get random fubars so I threw in the towel and leave it at 5. I've tried dimm voltage tweaks, ram speed tweaks, pll changes and all kinds of other crap to no avail. Either way, those of us who are stable at 4.6+ still have some serious clock power. Im hoping that with the b3 and new bios revisions, the 5+ stability will increase but I'm happy with where I'm at even if that's the limit for my chip.
