GTX570 question

Thread Starter
I'm looking at replacing my SLI GTX285's.
They perform really well but I'm starting to get small issues with them (driver shutdowns and blackscreens at times).
Also it would be ideal to reduce the heat inside my PC.
I was thinking of water cooling but I would rather spend my money on a newer video card.
What I would like to do is replace them with a single card.
I'm looking at the Asus ENGTX570 DC11 or the Gainward GTX570 Phantom (not available in Australia yet).
The 570's are about $200 cheaper that the 580's here in Australia so that helps my budget .
My question is how would the above 570's perform against my SLI GTX285's especially if the 570 is overclocked?
Of course I could SLI another 570 later on but I really want to keep heat and complexity down.
I have two other PC's (made from used parts for other members of the family) so the GTX285's would not be wasted and would be installed in those.

A gtx295 is faster than a 480 and therefore a 570, so gtx285 sli is faster than a 570 by a bit. However, you get lower heat, power consumption and a dx11 gpu.

uhhh... I had a 295 and IMO the 480 did better then the 295. One of the main reasons was it was a single card...
