Anyone consider the fact that Crytek made a logical decision to release the Demo in DX9 to suit the mass, not the power house rigs? While they could have added the option for players to select between DX9-DX11, would they not be required to allow dedicated servers (in a demo) for those running in DX9/DX10/DX11? I've read that this was one of the issues in the past where players running DX10 could not play with players running DX9.....is this false?

Until its officially confirmed by EA or Crytek its just hearsay. So this topic is pretty pointless and should be locked.

It isn't they are taking their time, this is a straight console port. They are adding dx11 as an after thought down the road.

This is 2011 not 2008. Any GPU from the 4xx series to the 5xxx and forward can run DX11. The point is, crysis pushed the envelope over the edge forcing hardware manufactures to step back and say, "Dang! We better step up our game"
Crysis 2 is 4 steps backward and proved that porting is going to be the norm from almost every developer...even the ones that we thought would never do it.

Ahh, I see. Well, just trying to see the logic in why Crytek would do this or why this rumor......is.

Since it hasn't been released yet, I can't vote. BUT! If Crysis 2 is released, UNFINISHED, and we're waiting for a dx11 patch, i won't buy it until the price drops significantly. I support the pubs and devs as much as possible, but its getting out of hand. I don't care if i have to wait another entire year for the game to be released. When i put put out the ridiculous amount of $60 for a game, the game had better be finished, playable, and the final version.

Thats right, I'm talking to you, Black OPS, Fallout 3 and a list of other games that weren't worth playing until they reached the bargain bin. Get your act together.

Oh, and just remember, if every pc gamer moved to a console, YOUR sales would plummet. Personally, I would never buy a brand new game ever again. Every single game would come from the used section.

I might fall into the Crytek fanboi category, but to be honest, it's the studio I respect the more, together with DICE.

For me, if it ships with DX9, I don't care much. I do care, but not a ****load. I bought the game because of the story.

If it gets patched to DX11, I expect a BIG update, something like a gig or so. More or less, like what BFBC2 got.

maybe it's EA who pushed them to take the game out, and they had a version based on DX9, and are still testing the DX11 engine. Don't know.

But check this please:
http://www.destructoid.com/crytek-cr...n-194643.phtml

Sooooo I believe it'll be shipped with DX11, no DX9 crap like that swedish site said.

If the game happens to be shipped with DX11, that site will be always know as the big liar.
